Mom Convicted After Locking Son Out of Facebook (Responce)

Facebook is not only making headlines about privacy or technological progress. Dan Fletcher from Time Magazine writes about an surprisingly strange occurrence. A mom "was convicted on a misdemeanor harassment charge, receiving a $435 fine and mandatory parenting and anger-management classes, according to the Associated Press, as well as a 30-day suspended jail sentence to be served only if she violates provisions in her year-long probation." What was the reason for all this?
Was it some serious crime? No, it was for the simple act of locking her son out of his Facebook account. Granted that neither mother nor son acted  Biblically (see Associated press version); this court ruling is a sad reflection on our society's loss of parental authority. Parents have Biblical mandate to bring their kids up in the fear of the Lord, and children are commanded to obey their parents. This is God's clear and simple design -- which sinful humans have managed to corrupt for centuries, but never to such an extent.
1But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. 2For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents,  ungrateful, unholy . . . 13But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them
- 2 Tim. 3:1-2, 13-14 (NASB emphasis added)
May these kind of articles encourage us to think about the coming of our Lord, and to pray for the salvation of sinners before that glorious day.

Grooveshark: best internet radio since Pandora

For a long time I have used Pandora to listen to music that I don't own. There are some things about Pandora that have simply annoyed me over the years. Recently I started using Grooveshark to listen to music, and it's just great. So I wanted to share some thoughts about each site.

Grooveshark:
-No annoying commercials :D (just a simple image at the side of the screen, most of the time I don't even notice it since I usually play music in the background).
-Rewind and Fast-forward songs!
-Play any song as many times as you want.
-Make custom playlists of songs you like.
-Search and play specific songs.
-Play songs that are "like" the songs in your playlist (like on pandora).
-Upload songs that you have, so you can listen to them anywhere you have internet.
-Its free, with no limit on how much you listen
It would only be fair to note that I still use both, just for different purposes. When I want to discover music or just play it as radio I would choose Pandora. But to listen to songs I like in the order I like, or to repeat a song I like (like one I just heard on pandora). I'll use Groveshark.

Anyways check it out if you have not used it yet.

My take on "Song of Myself" by Walt Whitman

Walt Whitman is one of the most famous poets in American history. He redefined poetry, and created a uniquely "American" voice. I believe that he changed the world of poetry not for better but for worse. Whitman ventured away from traditional rhyming and rhythmic poetry to a style that would eventually become what we know as free verse. He striped his poems of what I think truly makes a poem a poem. Answering Emerson's call, Whitman wrote explicitly on many controversial topics (e.g. sex, Communism, homosexuality, and war).

One of his longer poems "Song of Myself" (its 1345 lines) is one of the most selfish and immoral works I have ever read. Whitman was clearly a Godless man who had no problem celebrating immorality. Reading his poetry for literature class has not been an enjoyable experience, and I would not recommend him to anyone.
