Consensus is diametrically opposed to truth

I just read an amazing blog post entitled "More truth about Wikipedia" by Tim Challies. In this article he analyzes
the negative side of the Wiki model. Tim says that "At the heart of the wiki model is a new conception of truth—truth is what we agree upon." This article is a great commentary on how Wikipedia is a refection of our the culture as a whole. Challies reminded me of the importance of analyzing trends in the society, this is a very interesting and useful practice. We must never assume something is good before thinking about where it comes from and what its goals are. This article is a bit lengthy but its definitely worth a reading. So if you still haven't, go read it.
